The Calcutta Police investigation team, tasked with probing allegations of sexual molestation made by a female employee against Governor CV Ananda Bose, is set to interview witnesses in the coming days, as disclosed by a senior officer on Saturday.
The officer mentioned that inquiries are underway, with the team planning to speak with potential witnesses in the matter. Additionally, efforts have been made to acquire any available CCTV footage from the Raj Bhavan by formally requesting it. On Friday, a contractual female employee of the Raj Bhavan filed a written complaint with the Calcutta Police, accusing the Bengal Governor of sexual molestation within the premises of the Raj Bhavan.
It's noteworthy that according to Article 361 of the Constitution, criminal proceedings cannot be initiated against a governor during their term in office.
Interestingly, the Raj Bhavan issued a statement asserting that Governor Bose has ordered a prohibition on police entry to the Raj Bhavan under the pretext of conducting unauthorized, baseless, and politically motivated investigations to appease certain political entities during the electoral period.
