After a video depicting a vada pav seller seemingly being apprehended by police officers made rounds on social media, Delhi police addressed the issue on Saturday, clarifying that the woman was not arrested, and no formal charges have been pressed against her. Identified as Chandrika Dixit, affectionately dubbed the 'vada pav' girl, she has been operating a food stall in the Mangolpuri area of outer Delhi.
The incident transpired a few days earlier when Dixit shared a video showcasing a confrontation between herself and local residents while she was arranging a communal feast near her stall. This gathering resulted in a significant crowd forming around her stall, causing disruption to the flow of traffic in the vicinity. Residents lodged complaints regarding the traffic congestion in the area, prompting police intervention.
