Hyderabad — In a significant crackdown on counterfeit electronics, Hyderabad police arrested four individuals for allegedly selling fake Apple mobile accessories valued at over ₹1 crore. The operation was conducted by the Commissioner’s Task Force (Central Zone) in collaboration with the Abids Police.
The arrested individuals—Vikram Singh (30), owner of Shree Mataji Mobiles; Suresh Kumar Rajpurohit (25), proprietor of R.G. Mobiles; Natharam Choudary (25), owner of Rajaram Mobiles; and Mohammad Sarfaraz (24), proprietor of Sapna Mobiles—were operating from Jagadish Market in Abids. They were found selling counterfeit Apple accessories, including EarPods, power banks, USB cables, batteries, and silicon back covers, all bearing fake Apple logos and packaging.
During the raids, police seized 156 EarPods, 16 power banks, 430 Apple logo stickers, 295 adapters and adapter covers, 61 USB cables, 45 batteries, 95 back glass panels, and 1,430 silicon back covers. The counterfeit items were reportedly sourced from Mumbai through marketing agents and repackaged to resemble genuine Apple products.
The accused have been charged under the Copyright Act for violating intellectual property rights and deceiving customers. They, along with the seized materials, have been handed over to the Abids Police Station for further investigation.
