A tragic incident occurred on the Dataganj-Budaun road near the village of Musajhag, where a deteriorated high-tension power line broke and fell onto a couple riding a bike, resulting in their death due to electrocution. The horrifying accident caused widespread panic among the villagers. When the police arrived, they, with the help of the locals, managed to separate the line from the couple, but by then, their legs and the bike had already been charred.
The sight of the incident was enough to shake anyone to their core. The villagers, in their grief and anger, directed their outrage at the electricity department. Circle Officer (CO) Ujhani managed to pacify the villagers. The relatives of the deceased demanded action against the officials and employees of the electricity department. A video of the incident has also been circulated on social media.
According to eyewitnesses, around 5:30 PM, Devpal Chauhan was riding his bike with his wife on the Dataganj-Budaun road near Musajhag when the dilapidated high-tension line above them broke and fell directly onto their bike. The couple was electrocuted and fell to the ground, their bike catching fire.
Villagers rushed to the scene but were too scared to remove the wire. Inspector Manoj Kumar Singh of Musajhag arrived with the police force, cut off the electricity supply, and removed the wire from the couple. Unfortunately, both had already succumbed to their injuries. The bike was completely burned, and a video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
