13 Mysterious Deaths in Delhi Shelter Home: 13 Children Die in 20 Days

In the last 20 days, 13 children have mysteriously died at 'Asha Kiran Shelter Home' in Delhi's Rohini area, which is meant for mentally challenged individuals. The cause of these deaths remains unknown. Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP, Swati Maliwal, has raised questions about the Delhi government's handling of the shelter home, revealing several shocking details.

Swati Maliwal stated that the Delhi government runs the Asha Kiran Shelter Home, which houses mentally ill women and children. She noted that in the past 20 days, 13 mysterious deaths have occurred. Maliwal recalled that during her tenure as the Chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, 11 mysterious deaths had occurred within two months at the same shelter home.

Maliwal shared that during her inspection of the shelter home, she found appalling conditions: women were forced to crawl to the bathroom, many young children were defecating in their beds, and there was a severe shortage of doctors. Despite submitting a stringent report to the Delhi government, no significant action was taken at the time.

Swati Maliwal has called for immediate action in response to these recent deaths and has vowed to raise the issue in the legislative assembly, insisting that accountability must be established.
