MP Prajwal Revanna Breaks Silence on Sex Scandal: Truth Will Prevail Soon

Suspended JD(S) leader and Hassan MP, Prajwal Revanna, has broken his silence on the alleged sex scandal swirling around him. He made a statement for the first time, revealing that he has informed the CID Bengaluru about his absence from the city. Expressing confidence in the truth prevailing, he stated, "Truth will prevail soon."

Taking to X platform, the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda shared a letter wherein he mentioned, "As I am not in Bangalore to attend the enquiry, I have communicated to C.I.D Bangalore through my Advocate. Truth will prevail soon."

Significantly, the SIT seized the phone of Prajwal’s former driver, Karthik, on Wednesday for data retrieval related to the ‘obscene videos’ matter.

Earlier, on Tuesday, Karthik claimed to have handed over the video clips to Karnataka BJP leader and lawyer Devaraje Gowda. Gowda, on his part, asserted that he had cautioned the party about the sexual abuse allegations against Prajwal before finalizing the alliance deal with JD(S).

However, the BJP leadership denied receiving any such letter. The SIT also served a notice to Prajwal, summoning him and his father HD Revanna to appear for investigation within 24 hours.

JD(S) MLA HD Revanna is also implicated in the case as the second accused. Both father and son have been booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code including 354A (sexual abuse), 354D (stalking), 506 (threat), and 509 (insult caused to the modesty of a woman).

Prajwal’s lawyer, Arun, informed news agency ANI that the Hassan MP requires "7 days to come and cooperate with the investigation," emphasizing that this delay should not impede the probe significantly.

Clarifying the notice issued under section 41A of CrPC, Arun mentioned, "I am not saying I do not know where he is…Prajwal has categorically said that the videos are morphed." Arun also revealed that Prajwal had "anticipated a year ago that certain morphed videos and images may come into the public domain with an objective to defame him."
