Rahul Gandhi emphasized that India, as a nation, is open to different ideas and perspectives, encouraging the Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) present at the event to represent these inclusive values. He humorously mentioned that if anyone believed in anger, hatred, and arrogance, they would be attending a BJP meeting, while he would be conducting his interactive radio program, 'Mann ki Baat'. He expressed his gratitude to the audience for upholding the ideals of India.
During the address, Rahul Gandhi also contrasted the BJP's approach to problem-solving with that of his party, the Congress. He claimed that the BJP fails to address pressing issues such as unemployment, rising prices, the spread of anger and hatred, and the declining state of education. Rahul Gandhi humorously referred to a recent controversy surrounding the inauguration of the new Parliament building, where the Sengol, a symbol of India's transfer of power from the British in 1947, was installed. He suggested that instead of focusing on substantive issues, the BJP engages in superficial gestures, like lying down in protest. He concluded by stating that he was glad he wasn't resorting to such theatrics.
Rahul Gandhi is currently on a 10-day visit to the United States, with San Francisco being his first stop. He plans to visit Washington DC and New York as part of his itinerary.
