Former Haryana Minister and MP Ratan Lal Kataria Passes Away After Prolonged Illness

 


Former Central Minister and Member of Parliament from Ambala, Ratan Lal Kataria, passed away today after a prolonged illness in Haryana. Kataria had been admitted to PGI Chandigarh for the past several days. He was considered extremely close to Prime Minister Modi, and his demise has left a wave of mourning in Haryana. Today, his mortal remains will be kept at his residence in Panchkula, followed by the last rites in Manimajra. Currently, MP Kataria was residing in Mansa Devi Complex in Panchkula.


Born on December 19, 1951

Ratan Lal Kataria was known as an active leader in Haryana's politics. He was born on December 19, 1951, in Sandhali village of Yamunanagar district. Kataria earned degrees in Political Science (MA) and Law (LLB). He had a passion for singing the national anthem, writing poems, shayaris, and reading good books. His wife's name is Banto Kataria, and they have one son and two daughters.


Positions Held by Kataria

In 1980, Ratan Lal Kataria was appointed as the Deputy State President of Bhajpa Yuva Morcha. In addition to this, he served as the State Spokesperson of BJP, State Minister, All India General Secretary of Scheduled Caste Morcha, National Minister of BJP, and from June 2001 to September 2003, he held the position of State President of BJP. Kataria also served as the Parliamentary Secretary and Chairman of Harijan Kalyan Nigam during the state government from 1987 to 1990. Furthermore, he served as the Chairman of Haryana Warehousing Corporation from June 1997 to June 1999.
