Former Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy have been suspended by the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for their alleged anti-party activities, according to an announcement from the party's central office on Monday. The suspension came after Krishna Rao attended an Athmeeya Sammelanam programme organised by Srinivas Reddy in Kothagudem and criticised the Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekhar Rao, for suppressing democratic voices. The former minister alleged that the KCR government is neglecting people and their problems and failing to fulfil promises. Srinivas Reddy, who had already raised the banner of revolt against the party's leadership, claimed that KCR is dreaming of becoming a chief minister for the third time. The BRS changed its name from TRS after the Assembly polls, and this was the first public meeting organised by the party. Krishna Rao had previously dared MLA Harshvardhan Reddy for a debate on constituency development, and Srinivas Reddy had met YSR Telangana Party (YSRTP) leader Y.S. Sharmila amid reports of his plans to join the party.
