Passenger on American Airlines Flight Allegedly Urinates on Fellow Passenger in Drunken State

A male passenger on an American Airlines flight from New York to Delhi allegedly urinated on another male passenger while in a drunken state, sources reported on Sunday. The incident reportedly occurred on flight number AA292, which departed from New York at 9:16 pm on Friday and arrived in Delhi after 14 hours and 26 minutes of flying at 10:12 pm on Saturday.

According to a source at the airport, the accused is a student at a US university who urinated in his sleep while intoxicated, causing it to leak and fall on a fellow passenger who then complained to the crew. Although the victim did not want to report the matter to the police, the airline reported it to the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport in Delhi.

The crew immediately informed the pilot upon learning of the incident, who then reported it to the ATC. The CISF personnel were subsequently alerted, and the accused passenger was handed over to the Delhi Police upon arrival.

An additional source at the airport informed PTI that the airline's security team, along with the CISF, took action after the incident came to light, and the accused was taken into custody once the flight landed. The police are currently recording the statements of those involved.

In addition to potential criminal charges, the accused passenger may also face a ban from flying, depending on the severity of the offense, according to the Civil Aviation Rules.
