Rinku Singh's Father Refuses to Leave Two-room Shack Despite IPL Star Son's Success

Rinku Singh's Father Refuses to Leave Two-room Shack Despite IPL Star Son's Success.

Khanchand Singh, a gas cylinder delivery man and father of Kolkata Knight Riders' Rinku Singh, is content with his humble life. Despite his son's status as an Indian Premier League (IPL) star, Khanchand still watches Rinku's matches on an old tube television and refuses to move into his three-story home in Rambagh Colony. The family treasures a bike that Rinku won nearly a decade ago in a school game and sentimental value because it made Khanchand's life easier.

On Sunday, Rinku made headlines after hitting five sixes in a row off Gujarat Titans medium-pacer Yash Dayal, resulting in a three-wicket win off the last ball of the match. However, despite Rinku's newfound fame, Khanchand's choice of a simple life in Aligarh remains unchanged.

Although Rinku visits his parents daily, his newfound fame could make it difficult for him to go out to his favorite Mughlai restaurant without being mobbed. Despite Khanchand's reluctance to let his children play cricket, Rinku is now the only cricketer from Aligarh to play in the IPL.

As Rinku's friend says, "I don't know how it will be in the future. Until now, though Rinku was seen on TV, he could still move around freely. Hopefully, he won't lose his freedom." Despite the uncertainty, Rinku's family remains proud of his achievements and the joy he brings to their simple lives.
