India Sees a Slight Increase in Active Covid-19 Cases with 5,357 New Cases and 11 Deaths
As of Sunday, India has reported 5,357 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of cases to 4.47 crore (4,47,56,616), according to the latest data released by the Union Health Ministry. The active cases have also increased to 32,814, while the recovery rate remains high at 98.74 percent.
The death toll has risen to 5,30,965 with 11 deaths reported on Sunday. Among the deaths, three were recorded in Gujarat, two in Himachal Pradesh, and one each in Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and one reconciled by Kerala.
Meanwhile, the number of people who have recovered from Covid-19 has surged to 4,41,92,837, with a case fatality rate of 1.19 percent.
The ministry’s website also revealed that 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been administered
so far in the country as part of the nationwide vaccination drive.
