Lahore court orders police to halt arrest of former Pakistan PM Imran Khan

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan's arrest has been temporarily halted until 10 am tomorrow, following a Lahore court order. Police clashed with Khan's supporters outside his house today, using tear gas, water cannons, and dodging rocks thrown by angry crowds. The riot police were seen in disarray, and Khan's party tweeted that they had been pushed back by the people. In a video posted by the party, Khan was seen coming out of his residence in a mask to meet party workers and supporters. The 70-year-old politician, who is also a cricket legend, is wanted in the Toshakhana corruption case. He was found guilty last year of illegally selling gifts he received from foreign dignitaries during his term as prime minister, and an arrest warrant was issued against him after he skipped summons. Khan alleges that his arrest is part of the "London plan" aimed at silencing his demand for early elections.
