According to reports from Pakistani media, Islamabad Police have arrived at the Lahore residence of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in Zaman Park to arrest him in connection to the Toshakhana case. An Islamabad police official reportedly stated that they had come to Lahore as Imran Khan had failed to appear before a court in the case, and that they were being assisted by Lahore police.
It is reported that PTI workers have gathered at Imran Khan's residence after the arrival of police. According to a tweet by Islamabad Police, they have reached Imran Khan's residence to arrest him as per court orders.
On February 28, Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal had issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Imran Khan, and sources cited by Geo News claim that Islamabad police are in Lahore to arrest the PTI chief. Khan is expected to be arrested once all legal requirements are fulfilled.
In response to the reports, PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry warned of a worsening situation in the country if the government moves against the former prime minister, and urged the government to act sensibly.
